Pentair Pool Products IntelliFlo, the world’s most energy efficient swimming pool pump, is now available in Australia.
Set to revolutionise swimming pool filtration and cleaning, the IntelliFlo pump massively reduces the carbon footprint of homes and businesses as it can reduce running costs of swimming pools by up to 90 per cent. Few homeowners realise that their pool pump can use more power than most appliances in their home.
Significantly, IntelliFlo also enhances pool safety; if a swimmer (usually a child) is trapped against a pool outlet by suction from the pump, IntelliFlo senses the drop in flow and automatically shuts down – enabling the swimmer to swim free.
At the heart of the Pentair IntelliFlo pump is an ingenious permanent magnet motor - similar to those used in hybrid-power cars - which runs silently.
The motor can be adjusted so that it can even operate for 24 hours per day at an incredibly low speed. IntelliFlo’s lower engine speed and lower flow rate of water actually produces cleaner pool water and uses less energy than conventional pumps which normally run at high speed over a six-hour cycle. As IntelliFlo’s permanent magnet motor operates in complete silence, 24-hour filtration is a viable proposition, without disturbing the neighbourhood peace.
